Apples have been around for a long time. They date back thousands of years! Historians have found the remains of apples at a Stone Age village in Switzerland, as well as in very old Greek and Roman villages. When European settlers traveled to the new world, they brought apple seeds and trees with them.
When the United States of America was still very new, John Chapman became famous when he brought apple seeds and trees to settlers in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Later, he was called Johnny Appleseed.Click here to learn more about Johnny Appleseed!
